Our Profile

In 1966 Eddie Schoenborn and his family immigrated from Germany, settled in Port Alberni, and fulfilled his dream of having his own family restaurant. He and his wife Gina opened the Little Bavaria Restaurant in its current location and built a reputation for quality, friendliness and consistency until their retirement in 1981.

Kathy Krznaric and her family immigrated from Croatia in 1970 and settled in the Alberni Valley. Joe worked at the local mill while Kathy raised their family and worked in the hospitality industry until in 1993 she fulfilled her dream of many years – to have her own family restaurant. And the rest is continuing history.

Staff loyalty is unequalled. Chef Ana has been with The Little Bavaria since 1983 and is still lovingly preparing culinary marvels for her guests. Most of the staff can also boast of having many years of service.
